Meet the artist

Mary-Ryan (or “Ryan”) is the original “frivolous miss” and multi-passionate artist behind the art and design studio born of rebellion. With a long list of trivial interests, she adopted the alter ego after college (and began writing and illustrating Frivolous Miss, the book).

Her work features themes from nature, a lifelong study of color theory & symbolism, and travel. Originally from Georgia, the places she’s lived which continue to inspire her work the most are Vermont, Florida, Colorado, and Spain. She spent over 15 years working as a digital and brand marketer, helping small and medium-sized businesses grow. This experience guided the launch of her own art studio, and she continues to partner on select freelance marketing projects today.
